I can’t stand the guilt anymore. I had to update our blog. It’s been calling to me for weeks in my sleep, during my quiet time, and while I’m doing the other things that keep a business going. I love to write, and share, and socialize. I’ve been doing a lot of that over on our Facebook page. Make sure you “like” our page so you can keep up with our current projects and daily inspirational paint projects I find across the world wide web.
So the main reason I have been absent over here is that I have gotten myself involved in some pretty cool stuff over in the Faux Painting Sphere. I am now a contributing writer over at my VERY favorite blog for the decorative painting industry, Fauxology. I am also helping with advertising sales, and social media. Fauxology’s creator, Regina Garay and myself will be taking a huge step forward in BLOG COMMITMENT next week when we attend the Design Blogger’s Conference in L.A. We will be rubbing elbows with the “who’s who” in the interior design blogging arena. We hope to come home bursting with ideas on how to push Fauxology full force into blogging super stardom. I also hope to learn how to deliver great content to our readers here.
Have you heard about Pittura? It is the new digital online magazine for the decorative artist and interior design industry. It is being launched by Mindy Harrell who is an artist and studio owner (and now publisher) in Heber City, Utah. Mindy is a forward thinking entrepreneur and innovator in our industry. She has invited me to write an article on social media for Pittura’s premiere issue. So make sure you sign up to receive your free copy.
AND……Regina Garay (from Fauxology) and I have also partnered to teach a class at IDAL’s (International decorative artisan’s league) convention this July. We will be presenting ideas on how to build your brand on line. We will be covering blogging, search engine optimization, web site development, social media engagement and content creation among other things. In the mean time we are researching and putting into practice lots of golden nuggets so that we can share them with everyone.
So, now do you understand why I am guilty of not updating this blog? Sorry, but life is about to calm down a little and I can do more of the things I really enjoy, like this. I did do a little shopping this weekend at the Antique Trunk Show at the Nashville Fairgrounds and also at a neighborhood yard sale. Below are a few of the treasures I found and how I integrated them into our home. Hope you enjoy.
