Before and Afters- Don't you just love them?
We've got some great ones to share with you from 2016. This has been our best most productive year yet!! We have had the privilege to work in some beautiful homes this year. Here are our favorites and some dramatic kitchen before and afters.
Our most dramatic kitchen makeover of 2016 goes to this stunner!
This kitchen had so many good things going for it!! The home was built in the 1960's and once owned by country music icon, Donna Fargo. The kitchen tiles were handmade in Mexico and are original to the home. The color and style decisions in this kitchen were made to make this tile and the many antique doors be the stars of the show. The homeowner wanted to lighten things up and update the color palette. The cabinet doors were refaced with new flat panels to eliminate the movement of the previous knotty pine. She chose lighter grays for the walls and ceilings and Sherwin Williams 7507 Stone Lion for the cabinets.
We also stained and re-finished these antique doors.
This kitchen was super unique because we used a wood filler to cover the grain before we painted.
The homeowner worked with a contractor to make some major updates in here including a new island, new countertops, new appliances, and they added some glass into existing cabinet doors. You can read more about this kitchen makeover HERE.
Stove hoods look super updated when painted the same color as the cabinets.
Here are a few kitchens where the homeowners took our advice and painted the cabinets and the stove hood the same color for a beautiful seamless update. Each of these kitchens earned a spot in our favorite updates of 2016 for this one simple change that made a huge impact.
This kitchen earned a top spot in our "favorites" because we got to do something a little different in here.
This fun creative homeowner wanted something with a little drama to go with her distressed farmhouse style. We took this kitchen from traditional to "creative artsy farmhouse" with the application of an all over smokey glaze.
The year of light glaze.
In 2016 we introduced many of our clients to a lighter glaze color that had a more subtle contrast than the darker chocolate glazes we had used primarily in the earlier 2000's. The result is a sophisticated updated look that still accentuates the architectural details but without the sharp contrast.
