Greek Key, Chinoiserie, and Blue and White-ORC Week 5

By Dana Tucker 1 Comment

Welcome back to week 5 of our participation in the ONE ROOM CHALLENGE. If you want to catch up here’s WEEK 1– WEEK 2– WEEK 3– WEEK 4. This was a super productive week in our basement bathroom remodel. We actually started painting!!!!!!!

GREEK KEY BORDER

We started by painting a greek key border. The idea is to provide a frame around the walls to anchor the chinoiserie mural that we will paint inside. We were lucky to find this Athena stencil that was almost perfect. It came with a double row of greek key, but we only painted one row on the top and bottom.

Chinoiserie

In preparation for the hand painted chinoiserie mural, I enlisted Brooks’ talents to paint some pumpkins for me for a table setting arrangement for our church’s women’s dinner.

He totally nailed it!

He also had a chance to draw out the mural in chalk. He was using photos of Thomas Ard murals as our inspiration along with some images he pulled off my blue and white porcelain pieces.

OMG, this is a fabulous job. Your husband is very talent. Can our family borrow him to do this to our bathroom? LOL!
